The Beaufort County Sherriff's Office in South Carolina is pushing to open its own crime lab to bypass backlogs and restrictions on samples analyzed, but control comes at a price. The Sheriff's Office budget to open the DNA lab totals $894,611, with an additional $350,000 a year for operating costs....
