I am a publicist who specializes in, but is not confined to, the entertainment industry.
My background is in journalism, advertising, and broadcast and print journalism, to be specific, with a dash of marketing thrown in.
I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1982, and was an active member in the PRSSA (Public Relations Society of America) , and proceeded to work for large and small institutions. I received an Addy Award in 1985 for a print catalog made for Memphis State University, edging out Federal Express. Shortly after that, I chose the path of endless servitude and slavery – i.e. motherhood – to focus instead on raising my four children.
AFMFM (Austin Music Film Media) Productions started in 2002 by working with both well-known entertainment professionals as well as new talent, helping them successfully market their product with the tools a publicist uses.
This website, www.amfmstudios.com, is a platform for my clients. The clients listed on my website have EPKs, or Electronic Press Kits, which is one of the media tools I use to promote their product/event/venue/business. These press kits are global in nature, and on the cutting edge of SEO (search engine optimization) marketing. Please see the client list for examples of these EPKs.
