Overview
My job is to collect and sort through data to find information that people need to do their jobs and make it legible and beautiful.

I lead a great team of cartographers at Platts, a leading provider of energy industry information. In a nutshell, I use GIS (Geographic Info. Systems) software to organize and filter spatially referenced data and then bring that information into graphic design software to create a presentable product.

My education is in a Bachelors of Fine Art from University of Colorado and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Geographic Information Systems from University of Denver.

Here's where I boast about my mad skills: I have created everything from large format wall maps to maps for magazine illustrations, web news articles and graphics for many of the world's leading newspapers. I've been recognized with many national awards and have a couple of maps in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress

Non-work loves include whitewater kayaking, guitar and photography.

-Create publication-worthy maps within ESRI ARCview ,MapInfo Professional or Adobe Illustrator -Generate and manage map geodatabases. Review sources and understand data prcesses in order to collect the most timely and accurate data available. -Creatively respond to customer/market needs by developing new map products -Coordinate and maintain relationships with analytics teams to ensure map production is fulfilling customer needs and the products are an accurate and timely representation of the data. -Maintain e-commerce site -Custom cartography; create ad hoc maps in response to client requests -Develop new design standards and display styles (such as thematics, symbolization, color palettes) -Investigate and apply new GIS/Design software to assist in the development of production processes. -Assist Sales and Client support teams with map related queries.
