Overview
I will retire from the U.S. Air Force in early 2008 with 28 years experience as an officer specializing in leadership and human resources including teambuilding, education and training. My Current responsibilities are commensurate to those of a university dean. I direct 90 personnel responsible for development, distribution and student administration of Air Force distance education and training courses for 450,000 students a year. I set financial goals for $8M annual operating budget and three distinct delivery course delivery methods. I manage and oversees course distribution contract, hiring and evaluating personnel, planning and developing policies and tracking performance against measurable goals.
Prior to holding this position my experience involved duties commensurate with an assistant city manager. I led, directed, and integrated day-to-day support operations at the largest C-130 wing in the Air Force. I integrated operations for contracting, engineering, readiness, personnel programs, community services and security support for 5,821 personnel, 15,248 family members and 9,560 retirees on a 6,128 acre base. I was responsible for overseeing the management of 1,535 housing units, 383 buildings, 46 acres of airfield and 464 miles of utility lines. I provided oversight and executed a $108M construction program, $186M war readiness material program and employment of quality of life programs. Negotiated labor management agreements. Additionally, I was responsible for evaluating personnel, planning and developing polices and tracking performance against measurable goals.
