| “Caught in the Act!” the headline reads. The item below … Hayden Panettiere of NBC’s hit “Heroes,” stepping out with her costar Milo Ventimiglia. Panettiere plays the darling and smart little high school cheerleader Claire Bennet on the show, while the hot Ventimiglia is her young uncle, Peter. In the show’s first season (last year), before their familial connection was revealed, it almost seemed like there might be a hint of romance between the two characters upon their traumatic meeting (he was trying to save her life, you understand).
As this item in People magazine implies, there evidently was a spark between the two. At least in real life. And it’s just so cute. Panettiere’s character on the show is invincible, able to heal from any injury or sickness. Ventimiglia’s power is the ability to absorb anyone else’s power, even Claire’s. Quite a power pair, they are.
Keep your eye on that Panettiere. She has a tremendous amount of presence. She’s only a teen, and she’s actually playing characters her own age (as opposed to teen characters being played by actors in their 20s – such a cliché, but so much a necessity in Hollywood). Anyway, this kid’s talented. And she’s been generating some good press on the side, saving whales and all. A natural stunner, she’s been in quite a few roles since she was a very young girl; I spotted her on a “Law & Order: SVU” episode the other day, for instance. She played the daughter of one of the coaches on “Remember the Titans.” But I bet she’s going to nail some good roles from this spin on “Heroes.”
