| This high-end auction wasn’t just for high-end types … A host of belongings from hard rocker Ozzy Osbourne were auctioned off this past weekend in Beverly Hills, the Associated Press reports. The auction brought in $800,000, twice what the sellers, Julien’s Auctions, expected.
Among the offerings were a Edouard Drouot sculpture and a pair of skull sneakers. That’s quite an eclectic household, as we all saw so well on the Osbournes’ recent reality show. And the MTV show didn’t hurt the bidding, that’s for sure. Besides bringing the ‘70s-‘80s rocker back out into the limelight, it surely helped fetch $3,300 for a bat coat featured on-screen.
The finer art pieces were, as you might have guessed, what drew in the higher-end bidders. But they were outnumbered by the hard-core rock fans.
And you’ll be happy to know that the proceeds go to the cancer treatment program in Sharon Osbourne’s name at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
