ADBlade, Facebook and advertising

Many of you have asked about how ADBlade can charge such a low cost per click.  I wanted to update you about ADBlade but also share more information about advertising on social networks and what the opportunity means.  New research based on dynamic logic’s ad reaction 2007 study suggests that social networking properties offer a unique environment were marketers and advertisers can brand their products and connect with consumers.

If you don’t already know, Facebook is all about applications.  Third party developers build applications which Facebook users then install.  You can think of Facebook as a mini Internet and an application as a mini website within the mini Internet.  There are already over 13,000 applications available on Facebook.  The inventory Adblade manages appears across dozens of these popular Facebook applications.  Although many applications advertise themselves, applications aren’t the only advertisers on ADBlade.  When looking at the ads we serve, you’ll find dozens of ads ranging from educational courses, concert tickets, singles sites, contact lenses, software, hardware, games, electronics and even acne medication just to name a few.  Adblade’s own algorithm measures the response from each application’s audience.  It then takes the data and optimizes ads so that they appear most often to the audience and application that is most receptive.  This ensures a positive response for advertisers and maximum revenue for ADBlade’s publishing partners.   Advertisers of all types are still fighting over limited keywords on search engines.  The auction prices for many of these keywords has so vastly over priced the market that for many, there is little possibility of achieving any return on investment.  eMarketer recently reported that the average cost per click on search engines is $1.27.  Compare that price to a cost per click of 15 cents with Adblade.  Both these options charge on a CPC basis, both can brand the product and both can drive traffic.  Testing where your product achieves traction is important so I hope you’ll try Adblade.
