On the classic TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard," the Carnival of Thrills was a stunt show that came to town in a 1980 two-part episode, wooing poor Bo Duke -- via the charming Robin Mattson of "Santa Barbara" and "General Hospital" as slinky stunt-show coordinator Diane -- into the action. Can you believe there's a real-life Carnival of Thrills comin' to town -- at least a town you can get to in North Carolina?
The Hazzard County Stunt Team, comprised of seasoned Hollywood stunt guys who were once involved in the production of many, many TV and movie projects, is bringing on the action at the Concord Motorsport Park in Concord, N.C., next month. The Professional Stuntman Invitational and Carnival of Thrills Stunt Show will feature TV star cars and "the South’s finest hot rods and classic cars." The dates are June 26, 27 and 28.
These guys plan a spectacular stunt show on both Saturday and Sunday. Special guests of the event will include "Dukes" cast members Byron Cherry, Don Pedro Colley, Rick Hurst, Jerry Rushing and Sonny Shroyer, as well as Greg Evigan, who was the star of the '80s "B.J. and the Bear," as well as Willie Gust on "Dallas" and other roles over the years: Dan Hathaway on "Melrose Place," Robert Russo on "Pacific Palisades," Jake in the "TekWars" movies, and of course Joey on "My Two Dads."
